As we continue to face the spreading COVID-19 pandemic, REIMAGINING our worlds around us has become more important than ever before. As an organization, we at SPICY have shifted to adapt our programming and the publishing of our second annual zine and release party to this virtual space called 002: REIMAGINED. Our mission is to utilize art as a transformative tool to pave the way for what is to come. By doing so, we can view this pandemic not as an apocalypse, but as a portal to a new world. We believe artists and storytellers have a unique and critical role in confronting the empire with our voices, desires, joy, and creativity. Despite these dark times, we have seen the brightest light: the agility and versatility of our community to step up and fill in gaps of care. Together we must reimagine what can and must be. As the world seemingly crumbles around us, we must rebuild a new one in real-time.

If you would like to donate to SPICY at this time, we will be sending all the money we raise to NYC’s Low-Income Artist/Freelancer fund. The fund is giving much-needed financial help to the low-income, BIPOC, queer, trans, and GNC artists and freelancers in New York City whose livelihoods are being severely hurt by this pandemic.
